ARE VENEERS PERMANENT?

Yes, porcelain veneers are a permanent option for transforming and improving your smile. Veneers can help improve the color, position, shape, alignment, and look of the teeth and smile. Porcelain veneers are also a great way to get a new permanently white smile. Veneers are designed to last many years. Therefore, getting porcelain veneers is not a reversible treatment.

HOW MUCH DO VENEERS COST?

Veneers can range in price. This can depend on the area, the expertise of the dentist, and the quality of materials that are used. On average, veneers can cost from $1,000 to $3,000 and up per tooth or per veneer. For smile makeovers, people usually do 8 veneers or 10 veneers on their upper teeth smile. So an average veneer case can range from about $8,000 to $24,000 and up depending on where you go and how many veneers are done. At our office, our fee is $1,800 per porcelain veneer. So 8 porcelain veneers would cost about $14,400. 10 porcelain veneers could cost about $18,000. Since veneers are a cosmetic procedure, many offices work with third party financing companies to help people get financed so they can pay monthly. Since veneers are an elective cosmetic procedure, insurance does not cover any portion of the cost of veneers.

FAQ

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Porcelain veneers are used to enhance your teeth. They can be used to improve the color, size, shape and position of the teeth. In most cases there has to be some tooth structure removal during the porcelain veneer process. This can be minimized by going to a Cosmetic Dentist with extensive experience.
Once the veneer process is completed, you can eat and chew the foods you normally eat without any issues. There are things that you should avoid with your teeth in general that we recommend not doing with your veneers, like opening packages with your front teeth, biting on pen caps, or biting your fingernails.
When porcelain veneers are made well and done properly it is rare for them to break easily. There are many factors that go into making them well and doing them properly. Factors that are considered are: does the patient grind their teeth heavily or have a poor bite alignment, does the patient had any habits that will put the teeth or veneers under too much stress or pressure? These issues can be overcome through the design of the veneer and the material of the veneer that is chosen by the Cosmetic Dentist.
There is virtually little to no downtime for the porcelain veneer process. It’s like getting dental filling or a dental crown done. Most patients return to work after the procedure or the next day. The pain level is minimal as well. With over the counter pain relievers like Tylenol or Advil, most post op pain issues can be managed.
